The Winter months on Waiheke aren’t as bad as you think. The Island is still blessed with relatively mild temperatures, and you’ll often land a beautiful blue sky day with a crisp evening that calls for an open fire and lots of mood lighting. For our couples choosing Winter as their month to marry, we always like to plan for lots of candlelight and add in extra specialty lighting such as festoons, fairy lights and chandeliers. Also creating a nice cozy atmosphere at the ceremony and post ceremony drinks will be important, depending on the venue some comfortable lounge inside and some good heating is always appreciated. Our feature wedding here was hosted at Mudbrick, which is always a good choice when it comes to the cooler months.
