Elena and Rick had their hearts set on Waiheke, and found the perfect location at Honeymoon Bay - an absolute beachfront venue, to host their marquee wedding. With slightly moody skies, this December wedding offered some of the most beautiful elements along with an incredible backdrop; a lovely soft palette of colours and textures, beautifully styled blooms by the incredible Leaf & Honey, a mouth watering menu by Little Wolf and overall just one of the most elegant and romantic settings to host such a special occasion.
Honeymoon Bay, also known as Oakura Bay Villa, is rich with history and filled with love. Honeymoon Bay will take you back in time to sea side holidays of years past and create memories to last a lifetime. The bay, locally known as Honeymoon Bay, is privately owned and secluded and the perfect location for your special celebration.
The property is five hectares in area, including three private islands, almost two kilometres of coastline, cottage gardens, heritage fruit trees, a boutique vineyard and olive grove, and plenty of flat lawn at the beach front to exchange your vows and provide truly unique photographic opportunities.
The Villa was built in 1896 as a private family residence and was lovingly restored for boutique accommodation and weddings in 2013. The pioneer homestead with its large wrap around verandas and shady eaves reminds us of romantic times gone by. The Villa is available for you to hire for the wedding party, and is managed exclusively by us! So if this looks like the place for you, then you’ve come to the right place. Drop us an email and we can send you through further information.
